Chandigarh NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the centralized admission process for MD/MS courses at Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh, under the Department of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh Administration, affiliated with Panjab University. GMCH Sector 32 is the sole medical college in the UT and offers no Management or NRI Quota seats.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in Chandigarh NEET PG 2026 State Quota counselling at GMCH Sector 32, candidates must satisfy:

  • Qualified NEET PG 2026 with required minimum percentile (50th Gen/EWS, 40th SC/ST/OBC, 45th UR-PwD).
  • Recognized MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate.
  • Completed/scheduled 12-month rotatory internship by the NMC cutoff.
  • Valid medical registration (NMC/State Medical Council/MCI).
  • IP Pool: MBBS graduation from GMCH Sector 32 specifically.
  • UT Pool: 5+ years studying in UT Chandigarh, or parental residence 5+ years, or family property ownership 5+ years in UT Chandigarh.

CHANDIGARH NEET-PG Quota Details

Quota Seat Share Eligibility Fee Structure
All India Quota (50% Seats) Comprises 50% of the total postgraduate MD/MS seats available at GMCH Sector 32, Chandigarh. Open to NEET PG qualified aspirants from across India on a pure merit basis. Managed separately online by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) via mcc.nic.in.
State Quota (50% Seats at GMCH Sector 32) Comprises the remaining 50% of the total postgraduate MD/MS seats at GMCH Sector 32, administered directly by the institute. Institutional Preference Pool (IP Pool): 50% of the State Quota seats are reserved exclusively for candidates who have passed their final professional MBBS examination from Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh. Highly subsidized government academic fee structure (approx. ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 per annum academic fee, with total course expenses around ₹1,20,000 for 3 years), making GMCH Sector 32 one of the most cost-effective clinical training institutions in India.

How to apply

The Chandigarh NEET PG 2026 (IP Pool and UT Pool) application is conducted online via the official GMCH portal.

  • Download and review the official admission prospectus.
  • Register with NEET PG Roll Number, Testing ID, All India Rank, DOB, email and mobile number.
  • Pay the non-refundable application fee (~Rs. 2,000 Gen/EWS/OBC, ~Rs. 1,000 SC/PwD).
  • Complete the form and select Institutional Preference Pool or UT Chandigarh Pool.
  • Upload scanned photograph, signature, NEET PG scorecard, MBBS degree, internship certificate and UT domicile proofs.
  • Clear any notified document deficiencies; GMCH publishes the Merit List of Provisionally Eligible Candidates.
  • Submit and lock preferred MD/MS specialties during the counselling window.
  • Download the provisional allotment letter, deposit the institutional fee, and report physically to GMCH Sector 32 Academic Branch for verification.
