Karnataka NEET PG Counselling 2026: Official Process, Seat Matrix, Management & NRI Quota

Last Updated on August 08, 2026

Karnataka NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the centralized, merit-based state admission process for postgraduate medical courses (MD, MS, and PG Diploma) across government, private, and minority medical colleges, administered online by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bangalore.

Unlike many other states, KEA allows non-domicile candidates from across India to participate directly in private college open quota admissions.

1. Government Quota (G-Quota / 50% State Quota)

  • Comprises 50% of postgraduate seats in Karnataka Government Medical Colleges (remaining 50% goes to AIQ); a designated share is also reserved in private non-minority and minority colleges.
  • Reserved for bonafide domiciliaries of Karnataka or MBBS graduates from an NMC-recognized institution within the state; reservations apply for SC, ST, OBC (1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B), and in-service medical officers.
  • Fee: Approx. Rs. 1,23,400 per annum in government colleges; approx. Rs. 7,83,108 per annum for G-Quota seats in private colleges.

2. Private / Open Quota (P-Quota / OPN / GMP)

  • Open merit seats across private colleges like St. John's Medical College, KIMS, Vydehi Institute, BGS Global, and M.S. Ramaiah Medical College.
  • Open to NEET PG qualified aspirants nationwide; Karnataka domicile not mandatory.
  • Fee: Approx. Rs. 13,87,994 per annum for prime clinical specialties.

3. NRI Quota & Foreign / Management Quota (N-Quota / Q-Quota)

  • Dedicated NRI Quota (up to 15% of institutional intake) and Management Q-Quota seats reserved across private colleges.
  • Open to NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, foreign nationals, and NRI-sponsored Indian candidates.
  • Fee: Approx. Rs. 30,00,000 to Rs. 80,40,000 per annum (3-year packages at top private institutes can reach Rs. 1.75 to 2.40 Crore). Deemed Universities (KMC Manipal, Yenepoya, JSS Mysuru) allocate NRI/management seats via MCC Deemed University counselling.
