Andhra Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the centralized, merit-based state admission process for postgraduate medical courses (MD, MS, and PG Diploma) across government and private medical colleges in the state. The counselling is conducted by the Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (Dr. YSRUHS), Vijayawada (formerly Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences).
Admissions are governed by a three-tier quota structure designed to accommodate local state residents, all-India aspirants, and Overseas/NRI candidates:
- Competent Authority Quota (CQ - Category A): Comprises 50% of the total seats in Government Medical Colleges and 50% of the total seats in Private Non-Minority & Minority Medical Colleges, strictly reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh under the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1979 (G.O.P. No. 646). Fee: approx. Rs.40,000 to Rs.80,000 per annum.
- Management Quota (MQ - Category B): Comprises 35% of the total seats in Private Un-aided Medical Colleges, open to NEET PG qualified candidates from all states on a merit basis; local domicile is not mandatory. Fee: approx. Rs.9,63,600 per annum for clinical branches.
- NRI Quota (Category C): Exactly 15% of the total seats in Private Medical Colleges are dedicated to the NRI Quota; newly established Government Medical Colleges (from AY 2023-24 onwards) also allocate a 15% Competent Authority (NRI Category) quota. Open to NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and candidates sponsored by NRI first-degree blood relatives. Fee: Clinical branches approx. Rs.57,50,000/annum, Para-Clinical approx. Rs.17,25,000/annum, Pre-Clinical approx. Rs.9,20,000/annum.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must have qualified NEET PG 2026 conducted by NBEMS with the required minimum qualifying percentile (50th percentile for General/EWS, 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC, 45th percentile for UR-PwD).
- Must hold a recognized MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate from a college recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Must have completed, or be scheduled to complete, the mandatory 12-month rotatory internship on or before the official NMC cutoff date (expected: 31 July 2026 / 11 August 2026).
- Must possess a valid permanent or provisional registration certificate issued by the NMC or any State Medical Council.
- For Category A (CQ) only: must satisfy the local/non-local status rules defined by the AP State Government (studying in AP for at least 4 consecutive academic years ending with the MBBS qualifying year).
- NRI Quota (Category C) specific: the candidate or financial sponsor must be a documented NRI/OCI/PIO; if sponsored, the sponsor must be a first-degree blood relative residing abroad and must undertake complete financial responsibility for the entire course.

- Payment of Registration Fee: Pay the non-refundable state counselling fee online via Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card and download the fee receipt.
- Application Form Filling: Log in and fill personal details, academic history, local/non-local status, and specific quota choices.
- Uploading Scanned Documents: Upload clear scanned copies of all required original certificates.
- Merit List Generation: Dr. YSRUHS verifies the uploaded documents and releases the state-specific Merit List.
- Web Options Entry: Select preferred medical colleges and specialties in order of priority and lock choices before the deadline.
- Allotment & Physical Reporting: Download the provisional allotment order and report physically to the allotted medical college with all original documents for final verification.
