Jharkhand NEET PG Counselling 2026: Official Process, Seat Matrix, Management & NRI Quota

Last Updated on August 08, 2026

Jharkhand NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the centralized, merit-based state admission process for postgraduate medical courses (MD, MS, and PG Diploma) across government and private medical institutions in the state. The entire counselling procedure is strictly organized and administered online by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB), Ranchi.

Following the national dual-channel allocation system, 50% of seats in state government medical colleges are contributed to the All India Quota (AIQ) managed centrally by MCC, while the remaining 50% of government seats and 100% of state private college seats are administered by JCECEB.

1. Government / State Quota (50% Seats in Government Colleges)

  • Comprises 50% of the total postgraduate MD, MS, and PG Diploma seats across Jharkhand Government Medical Colleges, including Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Ranchi and MGM Medical College Jamshedpur. A designated percentage of seats in private colleges is also allocated under the state-subsidized quota.
  • Reserved for permanent Domiciliaries/residents of Jharkhand, or candidates who completed their qualifying MBBS from an NMC-recognized institution within Jharkhand. Candidates admitted to Bihar medical colleges before the state reorganization (prior to November 2000) are also eligible. Reservation applies for ST, SC, BC-I, BC-II, and EWS categories.
  • Fee: Highly subsidized government academic fee (approx. Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000 per annum).

2. Management Quota (Private Medical Colleges)

  • Comprises open management seats in private medical colleges such as Laxmi Chandravansi Medical College & Hospital, Bishrampur.
  • Open to NEET PG qualified aspirants from across India on merit via JCECEB online registration and choice-filling rounds.
  • Fee: FRC-regulated, approx. Rs. 8,00,000 to Rs. 15,00,000 per annum depending on specialty.

3. NRI Quota (Private Medical Colleges)

  • Dedicated NRI Quota seats (up to 15% of institutional intake) reserved in participating private medical institutions. Government medical colleges in Jharkhand do not offer NRI or Management Quota seats for PG courses.
  • Open to NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, foreign nationals, and Indian candidates sponsored by NRI first-degree blood relatives.
  • Fee: Premium tier payable in USD or INR equivalent, approx. $25,000 to $50,000 USD per annum for high-demand specialties like Radio-Diagnosis, Orthopaedics, OBG, and General Medicine.
