50% of postgraduate seats in West Bengal Government Medical Colleges are surrendered to the AIQ managed by MCC, while the remaining 50% of government seats, in-service quota slots, and 100% of private self-financing college seats are administered by WBMCC.
1. State Quota (50% in Government Medical Institutions)
- Seat Share: 50% of seats in Government Medical Colleges (Medical College Kolkata, IPGMER & SSKM Hospital Kolkata, RG Kar Medical College, NRS Medical College).
- Eligibility: Reserved for candidates with valid West Bengal domicile/residency, or MBBS from a recognized West Bengal institution; reservation applies for UR, EWS, OBC-A, OBC-B, SC, ST, PwD.
- Fee Structure: Highly subsidized government fee scale.
2. In-Service Quota (Dedicated Seats for In-Service Doctors)
- Seat Share: Postgraduate seats and state-sponsored DNB slots for qualified medical officers under WBMES, WBHS, and WBPHAS.
- Eligibility: In-service doctors who satisfy state departmental criteria, possess valid NOC, and qualify NEET PG within required merit brackets.

3. Management Quota (Private Medical Colleges)

Eligibility Criteria
- Must have qualified NEET PG 2026 conducted by NBEMS by securing the mandatory minimum qualifying percentile.
- Must possess a recognized MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate from an NMC-recognized college.
- Must have completed or be scheduled to complete the mandatory 12-month rotatory internship by the official cutoff date.
- Must hold permanent or provisional medical registration issued by NMC or the West Bengal Medical Council.
