West Bengal NEET PG Counselling 2026: Official Process, Seat Matrix, Management & NRI Quota

West Bengal NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the centralized, merit-based state admission process for MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB courses across government and private medical colleges, administered online by the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC).

50% of postgraduate seats in West Bengal Government Medical Colleges are surrendered to the AIQ managed by MCC, while the remaining 50% of government seats, in-service quota slots, and 100% of private self-financing college seats are administered by WBMCC.

1. State Quota (50% in Government Medical Institutions)

  • Seat Share: 50% of seats in Government Medical Colleges (Medical College Kolkata, IPGMER & SSKM Hospital Kolkata, RG Kar Medical College, NRS Medical College).
  • Eligibility: Reserved for candidates with valid West Bengal domicile/residency, or MBBS from a recognized West Bengal institution; reservation applies for UR, EWS, OBC-A, OBC-B, SC, ST, PwD.
  • Fee Structure: Highly subsidized government fee scale.

2. In-Service Quota (Dedicated Seats for In-Service Doctors)

  • Seat Share: Postgraduate seats and state-sponsored DNB slots for qualified medical officers under WBMES, WBHS, and WBPHAS.
  • Eligibility: In-service doctors who satisfy state departmental criteria, possess valid NOC, and qualify NEET PG within required merit brackets.
  • Fee Structure: Subsidized government fee scale backed by service bond regulations.

3. Management Quota (Private Medical Colleges)

  • Seat Share: Open management seats across Private Self-Financing Medical Colleges (KPC Medical College Jadavpur, IQ City Medical College, ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences Haldia).
  • Eligibility: Open to NEET PG qualified aspirants nationwide; West Bengal domicile not mandatory.
  • Fee Structure: Regulated private tuition fee, varying by specialization.

4. NRI Quota (Private Self-Financing Medical Colleges)

  • Seat Share: Dedicated seats in private self-financing colleges; government colleges offer no NRI/Management Quota.
  • Eligibility: Open to NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals who qualify NEET PG 2026.
  • Fee Structure: Premium international fee tier in USD or INR equivalent for high-demand specialties.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have qualified NEET PG 2026 conducted by NBEMS by securing the mandatory minimum qualifying percentile.
  • Must possess a recognized MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate from an NMC-recognized college.
  • Must have completed or be scheduled to complete the mandatory 12-month rotatory internship by the official cutoff date.
  • Must hold permanent or provisional medical registration issued by NMC or the West Bengal Medical Council.
  • State Quota: Must satisfy West Bengal domicile conditions or MBBS from a recognized West Bengal institution; non-WB candidates are eligible only for Management and NRI Quota.
